I have 2 types of Pine Tar, both the traditional (that has the proper smell) and one that doesn't have the distinct strong smokey smell. For use on anything Finnish traditional woodcraft I personally prefer the "smelly" Pine Tar ...and what a beautiful smell it is.But if you are using it on something else - well, then the odorless (or less odor) is probably better.
I cut mine with approximately 30-40 % Turpentine.
