Picked up a NEW a few weeks ago and would like to hear your thoughts on it. It is the first non bolt/reciever matching Finn gun I have picked up, and it drives me crazy. However, the stock and the reciever are original to eachother.

Would love some feedback on this.

How big of a hit is the bolt mismatch?

For me? Finned rifle? Not a big deal, for others, a hit in desirability - A plus for that rifle, it appears it rests in it's original stock. I have many M91's and a few of them are mismatched(bolts for sure), not a big deal for me.

Thanks Pahtu, the stock is the reason I bought it. I figured that would have to have some weight. Bore is great on it too. I guess I will learn to overlook the bolt eventually!

Mismatched bolts bother some collectors & for folks like me it does not matter - Sure I use such things like mismatched bolts as a bargaining point to lower price, but really if it is mismatched and i want the piece, then it matters little to me for Mosins.

Nice buy on the M27, now we need close up pics on everything....

My Peekers ain't so good anymore(lets be honest...my peekers never were any good...)

It being a Finnish marked the bolt mismatch .. especially on a non-Finnish built gun (Finnish built being - m39s, m27s etc) is a non issue to me. I echo pahtu's above statement. Most Russian acquired rifles are forced matched by the Finnish any way.

Thanks Spax. The gun has so much else going for it I guess I should overlook that fact. The bolt is probably the one it came from Finland with, and I am assuming could have been the one in it for a long time.

Pahtu, I will try and get some pics of the m27 up later. I posted a closeup in the "stock disk" post and got some neat information about the history of the regiment. The thing was/is a warhorse and is my second 1933 m27.

Nice looking gun. The mismatch would not be a deal breaker for me, I have a couple of finns with mismatched bolts, so IMO I would not let that be a major concern. It is what it is, still a very fine piece.
