This is for anyone who is thinking about buying a M39....

My M39 is a post-WW2 non-Russian rifle so it usually takes the backseat to my other rifles despite the fact that it's my most accurate and go-to hunting rifle. But last night I decided to take it apart and when I did I was reminded how well built and quality this rifle really is. If I could only have one rifle - this would be it.

Maybe it's time to show a little more appreciation to these fine Finns. Post pics if you have them.

That tiger striping looks fantastic Vaarok :) . The antique Tula that's currently en route looks similar...maybe a little blonder. The arctic birch sure makes for some pretty rifles. What's the Finnish equivalent of 'Hoo-ah' ?

Great rifles you have guys, very nice.

This one is mine with current post war arsenal stock. Sako 1942 with no SA or Sk.Y markings. On top of the rifle I have the original, flawless war time arctic birch stock.

And the bayonet:

This one is one of the best five shot groups from the last summer. Shot with Barnaul (same as Brown bear in North America) 185gr FMJBT ammo:

That group was at 100m (110yds) in the rain, first range visit with the rifle:

Here it is with my other M-N rifles (USSR, Finland, Hungary) :D:

They are awesome rifles. Best M-N. Ever.
