could someone post a pic of the correct way to install the sling and do they require on or two metal clips and if so where might i find them. thanks

They don't require any metal clips, as you can loop it directly through the sling swivels. I've only seen clips used on the bottom end for quick use of a hasty-sling configuration.

The locked sticky above, "Sling Installation Photos", are MY photos. I posted them here a while back and I haven't the foggiest what nickname I was using back then. And actually they were scans from the Dark Ages before I had a digital camera. How could I forget - it was quite a feat balancing that rifle on my scanner. I use GIFs now for pictures like that so the text letters don't bleed.

It's nice to see the pictures do somebody some good, but how about attaching some of my links to them? Here they are -

That's not the 1896 rifle, but rather the 1896 pistol. If you're big on the Mauser pistol, bring along some snacks, as there's a lot to read there.

I posted them as you gave me permission to use them previously. I lost track _who_ they came from.

As your links have nothing to do with Swedish military firearms or militaria I'll have to pass on posting them. If you want me to remove your photos send me an email and it'll be done.
