gogreen post a photo of the right receiver and the barrel code. it is on the barrel right in front of the receiver but may be on the underside of the barrel.

i doubt there is anything wrong with the depth of the s.n. stamps. i don't know about the ERMA stamp.

edit: actually, post more photos of the entire rifle if you will.

i will get some more pics today...on the right side is nazi eagle over 280x3 but have been peened ..its a russian capture no "x" on it and is a rguns import...had a perfect bore almost unfired is why i bought it about 2 or so yrs ago

I saw one two years ago at a local shop. Bolt m/m with sported stock. Had never seen the Erma stamp quite like that before so I was uneasy with it and passed. Now this is the second I have seen. The other was EXACTLY like this one.

Most likely a period replacement barrel, pretty common to find in RC's from what I have seen. Lots of 98k's got reworked during the war, this was likely one. It is odd that is doesn't have a firing proof on the barrel though, usually they got that at least- indeed, post some more pics.
