I'm new to the forum. Hope you'll solve my dilemma.

A friend of mine found this conversion but we are unable to recognize the model and for what type of rifle was made.

I will let the pictures speak...

Looks like one of the conversions for the 98K. Do a search for "EL-24".

Edit: On second thought, it looks a bit different than the EL-24.

That is similar to the units used on Mauser 98s, but that is not what it is. My bet would be that it was
part of a sub-caliber training device for some sort of cannon, and that it is not complete.

It's an Erma EL24 for the M95 rifle. If I remind it correctly around 200 have been made for an Austrian authority plus a couple sold on the private market which do not have the Austrian proof stamps.

The screw is not original as it had a small screw with an square end to operate it and not a slot.
