Came across a 1916 dated Erfurt Luger today. It was Nickel plated !
Had the Crown, Efurt, and date.
All numbers matched that I could see...but did not check the grips. ( not that familiar with Lugers.)
Seemed to have the right crown proof marks, similar to my Gew 98's.
Don't remember the S#...6041? All small parts stamped with last 2 digits of S#. Font looked the same for all numbers.
Guy said it was 9mm.
Not sure how much rifling these should have, as compared to a rifle, but crown and muzzle looked OK. ( never looked down a Luger barrel before.)
Plating showed a few signs of small rust spots.
Had WWII clips according to seller.

Is this correct being Nickel Plated ?

How much rifling should it have ?

Any thoughts on value ? ( I know, without pics. ?)

Your thoughts appreciated.

It's a shooter. Lots of GIs had their nice capture guns plated in Europe after the war. They're pretty, but pretty-much destroy the collector value of the guns. Probably worth $5-600.

Thank you.
Asking price is a couple more than that, and I'm not sure how much rifling they should have. Guess I'll just have to look at some at shows to educate myself.
