Any idea who made this sling (and what country)?

Marked "S.S.H. LTD 1942"

Picked up two of them at a show this weekend. Also have a circle with something (arrow?) in front of the lettering.

I dont think it is Canadian I went through the book 37 Web Equipping the Canadian Soldier.(Ed Storey)
I could not find S.S.H. Ltd 1942 listed.

Well, there is Stuart Surrige & Co. Ltd, Borough High Street, Southwark, London.
They were also known for making cricket bats.

This is not one of the ones I got, but I found an auction that lists one just like the two I picked up... Here's what they look like.

Mine are in somewhat nicer condition, though one does have lighter markings.

Here's the auction link to the one pictured below. I have no idea if it's really that "rare, rare, rare" or not, but it does seem to be Canadian marked.

Well, I have two of them, both alike. If anyone has a 1942 (or WW2) dated Aussie sling and needs a Canadian-marked sling, let me know. Maybe a swap is in order.

Or just upside down? Maybe the stamp-maker got it upside down, or perhaps these were stamped with the SSH first, and the C-arrow later.
