I lucked into this one at a gun show a while back -in a batch of Helwans! I think its the 7th gun into the Egyptian Beretta contract (or it belonged to James Bond . I know a gunshop that has a later one of this series for sale and I noticed that the position of the Egyptian "Eagle of Saladin" was moved from the front of the slide (as in my pic) back toward the center of the slide. I meant to check on the meaning of the painted farsi character on the grips, but never got around to it.

very good find for a very early contract gun..but how is in bore most that are seen are ruff from corrosive ammo

wow.....different mag release, different grips.....Also, the barrel is about a 1/4 inch longer then on my helwan.....how many were at this gun show? I have only seen one at a gun show in 6 years...I would like another one too, but may have to order off of gunbroker....Might pick up another helwan, but we'll see.

Thank you. You're right about the bore being rough -its not the worst I've ever seen but not the best either. The lands are still good and I think it would clean ok if I shot it, but I haven't put any rounds through it yet.

I only saw this one at the show. That quarter inch extra barrel you mentioned is what caught my eye or I might have passed it up! I do know of a shop about 80 miles away that had one for sale (import marked) but seemed like it was in good shape from what I recall. I have his number if you want to PM me. I can't say for sure what he was asking but I think it was around 400 plus or minus.
