Picked this up on eBay. Maybe me, but it seems to have gone for a pretty reasonable price.

Condition not withstanding (Hasn't arrived yet.), even if it's halfway decent I have not seen many mid-length Hopkins Allen '89s around.

Any info on why there were the variations in length?

Will post pics upon arrival, unless it's a disaster... then you'll never hear about it again!

I found one reference that indicated the mid-length examples were for the Garde Civique (Civic Guard) but nothing else.
