Purchased a DSM 34 (Mauser) last week that was missing the half ring between rear sight and the handguard as quite a few others I've seen....I used a full ring from 1917 enfield rifle, cut it and bent it to fit around the handguard then just ground and shaped it...polished and blued. Hard to tell from original......
