I saw the DP-28 on MGS's site this weekend, so it begs the question has anyone here got one?

Good to see a few on here, I have a question how long does it take to load the "pan" mags and how many rounds do they carry.

They hold 47 or 49 rounds although the 49 round pans can have feeding problems. I ended up with a couple of 49s out of 18 pans and mine functioned fine. They can be a pain to load but I built a loader that makes it relatively easy and I can load one in a minute or so. I figure with 18 loaded pans the kids can keep up the loading for a good while before I get them all emptied. At that point we fix bayonets and make the ultimate sacrifice for the Motherland!

When these were first made they had some issues but these are now corrected. They are a lot of fun and about as close to a real DP that most of us will ever see. Mine is a bit picky in regards to ammo but that is not a shock. It likes some ammo and hates others but it is not so picky that only one or two types work. For the most part my DP eats the ammo fed to it but for some reason the Polish (and a couple of others) do not agree with it.

I did nearly shed a tear upon seeing Vaarok's DP in action. I want one.

Problem is, I just spent the only $2500 I'm likely to see for many years on a truck so I can get to work and the range once in a while. And that much for a gun that has almost zero practicality is tough to stomach.

It has a tone of practibility. Just think if a wild heard of feral cows came charging through your front yard or a rabid gaggle of chickens as pictured. Dinner for weeks.....

The worst part is, I'm now going to need a new car/truck soon, and for as little as I use the DP and how much it's worth...

But it's too much of a status symbol to part with. Better to hock that Dovitis mauser and some other stuff first.
