Don't tell Jim dawson that he left this Japanese sword out of his book. I had this sword for years, the blade is much better than the mounts suggest. I finally located another one just like it, but that one had a paper label on it. I'm going to take the sword to Tulsa and see what I can sell it for.

The sword pictured is a Japanese police sword with a police badge on the fuchi. We do have one pictured in my new book, Swords of Imperial Japan 1868-1945 Cyclopedia Edition (released just two months ago) on page 321, Plates 24-56 and 24-57. Our website is www.stenger-scott.com and copies are for sale on the site. If you have not seen the book, it is hard cover, 448 pages on 100 pound coated art book stock, with over 900 photographs, ALL IN COLOR. Regards, Jim
