I bought a Finnish M27 this week that has the Tula "Hammer" marking on the underside of the tang but there is no date or other marking there. On the top of the tang there is a small oval with an unidentifiable marking inside. Any idea when this receiver was made? Sorry, but I can't make out the marking even with a magnifying glass and light. The M27 is a Tikka, dated 1934 on the barrel. Where would be a place to buy missing crossbolts for the "popsickle" stick nosecap and the barrel band, also needs a cleaning rod. Thanks for any information. This M27 was sold as a parts gun for $50 as the barrel looked like a sewer pipe. However, after much brushing with Hoppes, and rapid firing 40 rounds, it looks pretty good. With this purchase I now have a 31, a 33, two 34's, and a 39.

The rod is a killer and will cost more then the rifle. I have no source for the reinforced forend crossbolt I'm sorry. I had some made some time back but they have all been used or sold in my parts bin I'm afraid.

Got any pics? :)

It's likely an 1891 to 1894 receiver as the earliest production was not dated. I would not try to convince the ATF of that however.
Not to hijack the thread, but my 1896 Tula M91 also has no date on the tang. I guess the same would apply?
