Where does the sling attach to the rear? Images of the receiver out of the wood would help. Flip flop is correct that the bolt looks like a no4.

If you look at the rear sight support, you will see that it's much too broad and the action body isn't a No5.

...and we wonder why that and the rear sling mount are not in the picture. I did send a message to the auction house that was studiously ignored, it seems.

$350 would be a very good price, for what I have been able to find out, for a proper No.5 Mk.1. I stumbled across one at a gun show yesterday that was priced at $350 - the woodwork was dirty but didn't have too many dings or dents (and no cracks) and much of the original finish had been worn off of the barrel - might $350 have been a reasonable price? I have given up looking at gunbroker to work out reasonable prices, and I prefer to ask the people who know these things lol.

Looks like a no4 to me. $350-$400 should buy you a nice No5. I shopped around and found a near new 45 faz for $399.

Good grief, someone has too much money! No5s seem to turn up on a used website fairly frequently from about $600-$900, not sure why someone had to have that one...
