I'm sure this has been asked before, but is there a difference between stocks of the yugo mauser models? I just purchased a yugo stock for ten bucks and want to look for a barreled action for it - but not sure how to tell what model it's from.
Additionally, does anyone know a good source for bbl'd receivers?
Thanks! I'm finally wading into the mauser pool...

Good question. There are 3 predominant types that I know of. The Model 24, 24/47 style is for the intermediate length action and comes with either a narrow or wide middle band and two L-shaped band springs. The Model 48 style is also for the intermediate action and resembles a K98 with a full length handguard and one leaf band spring. Then there is the M24/52-C which is a standard length action and is in a VZ-24 style stock. SAMCO has 24/47 barreled actions. They will fit either the M24/47 or M48 stocks.

Yugoslavs produced K98 stocks as well as others not mentioned by BobZ..If you dont have any pics could you at least describe your stock??..Its very likely one of the intermediate length as BobZ described..

How do you know its a Yugo stock?
