Sorry, I guess that was a little vague. Not the short rifle, a carbine with the full length stock like the 1891 or 1909, etc.

I figure I need to set some parameters if I'm going to have any sort of collection/accumulation rather than roll in helter skelter as I usually do...:laugh: I'm going to stick with full length stocked carbines and South American short rifles. For calibers I prefer the 7x57 but am willing to have some 7.65x53 and 6.5x55 eaters. I'm already a fan of the 6.5x55 and want to try the 7.65x53.

I figure that should make it challenging yet manageable.

Thanks all!

Ball's 4th Ed didn't mention any but I read somewhere else Peru bought long rifles and "carbines" from another SA country (Argentina maybe? I've forgotten already...:p).

I know some folks call any "short rifle" a carbine if they don't know or don't understand the difference. I didn't know there WAS such a thing as a short rifle until the Mauser bug bit and I'm still not real sure at times myself.:laugh:
