Whoa - Fiocchi made in Hungary? What? Is MFS now under contract to produce Fiocchi? Fiocchi is an Italian brand!

Ok, now I have to have some and I didn't want more Fiocchi at the moment. It's not cheap and I have other financial diversions. I guess it's a visit to Midway for North Bender.

Tmygun: let us know how it shoots. Fiocchi put a real fast-burning powder into their rounds that always produced a significant kick. Very noticeable in comparison to other 95-grain 9x18 rounds. And as George wrote, not suited for the lesser PA-63.

As M2 wrote, save the brass. Everyone - save all your 9x18 brass. It's worth money or serious trade bait.

Tmyggun, today I received the 3 boxes that you made me order :D. This weekend I hope to put some through the chrony. I'll post pics of the various Fiocchi 9x18 offerings, but right now I can say that they are slightly different in packaging. What a suprise to find a new Fiocchi load not produced in their factory. I haven't read about this arrangement on any other forum.

That's why we check here first!

NB, it seems to me you had some good words for Prvi Partizan, so I ordered some from ammoinc.com. They called 3 days ago and said they didn't have any of that and could they substitute MFS. It arrived today, but I'm saving the brass stuff for a rainy day. Looked nice.

torpeau: I always thought that MFS made excellent ammo. I'll say again - reloadable 9x18 brass is worth cash. Can you tell us cost w/ shipping?
They charged me the same as what I was expecting to pay for the Prvi Partizan -- $12.99 a box. Only ordered 250, so $83 with shipping.

As I said, this is rainy day stuff. I expect to be able to get cheap Silver Bear, Military Classic and Barnaul for years to come. I don't think the sky is falling.

Thanks torpeau. I think, if I haven't run the calculations backword (in which case ST the Revenuer will correct) those rounds cost around 33 cents each.

Man oh man. But ... let's look at what's happenin' now days.

Just to pick one favorite supplier: Midway asks $15.49 for a box of 100 Starline 9x18 brass casings:

http://www.midwayusa.com/esearch.exe/search

Isn't that 16-cents a round for brass alone?

It used to be we could order and fire Russian ammo at the rate of around 11 cents a round with shipping included (1,000 rounds of Wolf or Silver Bear for $109, delivered). That was within the past 6 years.

My oh My

So, back to my comment that 9x18 brass casings are worth money. They are.
