A friend sent this partial shot of a DCM label; shipping name and address omitted. He’s curious if there’s any identifying info that would permit him to associate this M1 carbine sized box with a particular carbine. Apparently, his father purchased rifles through the DCM, but any paperwork is apparently long gone as are several of the rifles.

I don't know if the form number is only associated with M1 Carbines, but in this example, you can see what the carbine boxes look like.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to associate outer box label to any specific rifle/carbine. The document with SN# was included inside the package. If it was gone, it was gone for good. No way to track down as CMP had previously stated that they had no DCM records.

The box is definitely a carbine box, so I'll advise him to associate it with the carbine he likes the most.
