Does anyone out there have, or know of, a Webley RIC that is dated, or can be dated?
A date won't tell when a particular serial No. was made, but it will tell after which it was not made, and thats a good start in dating these
most interesting revolvers.
The only one publicly known so far is Ser.No. 70659, (Paris 1878), in that great Black, Davis, Michaud book on RIC's.

Thanks Joel,
Specifically, I'm trying to date early 4 screw RIC's with Ser. No.s below 17,000.
If the ANCSL records show when they purchased them from Webley that would be of help. When they then sold to a customer, less so.

If you could post a few pictures of your RIC it would be much easier for me to date it.
Ask, and ye shall receive :) These pictures are from back in 2002, but the gun hasn't changed.
