Excellent condition VZ24 rifles are premium items, even more so if they have proof of being from the Japanese contract. Proof is Kanji painted on the sling, numbers painted on the stock, or bringback papers. I feel sure the one in the link is Japanese but there is no proof. The P prefix serial number is not proof.
The price seems high to me with no Japanese proof.
Mine has kanji on the sling. It was not advertised, I found it when I got it.
The Japanese P series rifles seem to have been mixed up with the Chinese P series rifles. There were also some Japanese VZ24 rifles that had no prefix on the receiver and had a C prefix on the matching numbered stock.
If a VZ24 is in excellent condition, P series, with no import marks, it is probably Japanese.
I did see one in excellent condition (probably Japanese) that had a single small oriental character stamped in the stock. The character meant school or training but the same character meant the same thing in both Japanese and Chinese.
