I was busy over the weekend otherwise I would have kept closer attention on this auction. Did anyone know if lot number 699 in the Nye country auction online had the concentric circle marking or was it a canceled mum?

Looks like another auction to keep an eye on. Those prices were good for the buyer, but if I had been the seller , I would be very unhappy.

Friends,
I did a bit of Photoshop work with the image.
I interpret this to mean that the circles overstamp the mum.
I see no bun, or school character added.
Other eyes have more experience than mine.
What am I missing or misinterpreting?

When I first saw it I thought "Siamese charka", now it looks like it might be a C.C. mark. School mark isn't included on receivers of Tokyo/Kokura type 38 C.C. rifles.

Anyone get anything

I didn't have enough money to bid for anything at this time. Did anyone from this site get that one or any of the others. The link to the auction was up for a short time on the collectors board. If that hadn't been taken down quickly I bet the prices would have been much higher. I'm kicking myself for how cheap some of those rifles went when I could have left a couple of bids online.
