5-6 months ago I bought at auction a "German" .22 single action and holster (Colt). Really nice ,especially for the price. Same auction recently saw another similar one, also "German" only not quite as nice. Then a Colt Frontier Scout, some finish gone on both the later two. All three appeared to be identical ,in every way ,especially the type of finish. Any ideas? I have one,but will wait to see what pops up. Richard

What are the markings on your gun?

As far as the finish is concerned, no magic in that - a lot of companies use sufficienly similar levels of polish and types of bluing to appear similar.

As far as i know, all Colt Frontier Scouts were built at Hartford of 100% Colt-produced parts. Unlike some (many? All?) of the C&B guns of the second generation and later.
