Here is how to get it direct...........

LATEST CMP SALES NEWS:
*** DO NOT REPLY TO THIS EMAIL ADDRESS. THIS IS AN AUTOMATED ACCOUNT AND ANY REPLY WILL NOT BE READ ***
AP .30-06 M2 BALL: The .30-06 AP ammo that we now have available includes headstamps: AYR, SL, TW, and LC. Dates of manufacture vary from the 1940s to the 1950s. Most of the ammo is corrosive, but some may be non-corrosive. The ammo is packaged in 8 round M1 Garand enbloc clips, in bandoleers, in spam cans. Purchases of multiple cans will be shipped in what appear to be the original wooden crates (two spam cans per crate). Cans and crates will be selected luck of the draw as to the headstamp. 4C3006U202-192P. Single spam can (192 rounds). $60.00. S&H at $8.95 per can. CMP will not ship any AP ammo to Massachusetts, Washington D.C., Puerto Rico, or the Virgin Islands. The following states do have laws regarding AP ammo, but the laws are unclear as to whether or not they apply to .30-06 AP ammo, since this ammo was designed for use in a rifle and not in a handgun. Customers from these states should be aware that even though .30-06 AP may be currently sold in their states, there is a risk of arrest and prosecution for the possession of .30-06 AP, depending on how their local law enforcement officers interpret their state definition of "Armor Piercing or Restricted ammo". These states are: California, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Michigan, Mississippi, Rhode Island, Tennessee, New York, New Jersey, Hawaii, and Nevada. Residents of these and all other states should check your state and local laws on ammunition sales before ordering. Even in states where state law does not prohibit AP, there may be cities within that state that prohibit or restrict possession of AP ammo. See the ammunition tab on Estore at https://estore.odcmp.com.

BELTED .30-06 AMMO: CMP now has a small quantity of .30-06 belted ammo. M2 Ball, .30-06, Belted in 250 rd Ammo cloth belts, in .30 cal cans. Manufactured by Kynoch Works (British). 4C3006B200-250P. Corrosive primers. Manufactured 50-53. Weight 18 lbs per can. S&H per can - $9.95. See the ammunition tab on Estore at https://estore.odcmp.com

Wow! That didn't take long. Their eStore was getting hammered Friday afternoon (when it went on sale) and evening. I was able to get 2 cans ordered late Friday night. There was speculation it wouldn't last the weekend...

At roughly $.36/round for 30-06 AP ammo is there any question why it wouldn't last the weekend ???

According to CMP Forum posts, AP was sold out by closing time at Camp Perry, Ohio North Store Saturday and on E-Store at approximately 10:00 AM today. Wonder how many of those who purchased the AP will shoot little or any of it. Oh well, at least the money will be used for a good cause: Teaching US juniors to shoot. Don't forget, the juniors are the future that will keep the shooting sports going and be the defenders of the Second Amendment after we old farts die off. God bless America!

Anybody opened up a can of the Norwegian "AYR" ammo? Curious as to the stampings on the back of the enblocs holding the ammo. Never heard of Norwegian made enblocs, and curious if there is such a thing.

although some people bought them to shoot, in matches or just for shooting, a LOT of them bought it to re-sell at very high prices at gunshows.
That is BS to resell CMP ammo, but I see it at every gunshow. I think that if people are caught doing it, they should get their purchase privelages revoked. What a crock.

I hear ya....but as long as CMP gets "its price" for the ammo and the program continues...what is the complaint? Those resellers are not hurting the program in any way...for sure they pumped $360,000 into the CMP coffers just this weekend on the AP ammo deal alone.

I will not sell CMP ammo or buy CMP hawked ammo from those guys but it just seems Un American to sell someone something and then tell them what they can or CAN NOT do with it.

I do get a BIG RASH when guys from a CMP Club haul ammo the club got from CMP for Youth Shoots etc and try and sell that at the shows. This may not be too common these days, but I have seen DCM ammo offered at prices that only someone who got it FREE could be happy with. That is a shame...no, a CRIME!

One of those postings is a pulled offering from the WTS forum here. Picture used is the same.

I dont bemoan selling of CMP purchases. No one ever said you had to keep it for eternity, but these might be pushing it with their quick turnover. Proves to me time-after-time what great deals the CMP has.

It would have been nice if the CMP had put limits on the number of cans sold to an individual, but I suspect the CMP wanted to get rid of this ammo really-really fast. Would'nt do for the liberal press or politicians to go on about them selling "Cop Killer Bullets". Still not sure it wont yet come back and bite them in the ass. Sure beats the CMP destroying the ammo.

Anyhow the CMP has been real good to me. You will never hear a bad word about them from me. My feelings for the CMP are the same as I have for the NRA.

In most cases if someone is too lazy to go through the process of buying from the CMP, and helping ths shooting sports and organization, - I have a little trouble feeling much synpathy for them.

This time was different, and I'm sure some people just were not fast enough to get some.

I got my four cans coming though. No intention of shooting or selling it. Plan on placeing it with the 3-4k rounds of armour piercing .223 and 7.62x39 I also have. If we ever have a problem with zombies wearing body armour - I'm ready.

I tried to get 4 cans for myself...but my Texas State Rifle Assn. card on file was "out of date". I scanned the new one Friday afternoon and emailed it up to CMP. They "reset" me on Monday morning....TOO LATE FOR ME!

My sympathy to you.

For anyone in a similar situation in the future - you can actually join the Garand Collector Association over the phone, and they will vouch for you. Same day.

Think the VA State Shooting Assoc. did the same for me once, but hear they cant now.

Problem was.. I found out Friday AFTER the CMP office was closed that I needed updating. Ecart access was not granted to me until 10 AM Monday and the cart system had been taking orders all weekend. By the time I was "good to go" the ammo was "good and gone"!

Yup - nothing you could do.

Used to post CMP annoucements on the US and Semi-auto board. Might go back to doing that again as there is a definite time difference between when the first person gets it - and the last. Never have fiqured out how their software sends email/updates - by last name, by last purchase, or something else.

Definitely worth making sure they have your current email address.
