I came across a deal for a Chinese Honor Guard SKS Rifle. Seller claimed it is very rare & only 150 were imported in 1994. NIB, all chrome except receiver & front/rear sight assembly. Clear lacquer sealed wood stock. Incl. chrome bayonet, leather ammo box/sling, cleaning kit, oiler, manual & authenticity paper from Norinco. $499.00. Must ask about matching #'s, but would assume it does. Anyone ever see any of these? Good deal? Will it's value increase over time? Thank-you for your help!

Considerably more than 150....or I wouldn't have gotten one for $175.

Omega still has roughly 400-500 from what I've been told to sell alone. I'd bet the number is in the low thousands imported, small numbers but more then $150. $500 is on the high side IMO but some I know have paid that, make sure it comes with all the paperwork and certificates, there have been people try and forge these. It should have a thicker butt plate and other unique features.

I have 2 I bought from Omega down in Tucson- I believe they are a worthwhile investment, if you are a serious SKS collector. As far as appreciation on value goes, I really donrt think they'l climb rapidly like the Albanians did, but who knows what the future will hold? There definately wont be any more "papered Norinco Honor Guard rifles coming in- by the way, mine are both late 50's SKS's- one is a 56' sino-soviet and the other is a 58'. Both beautiful rifles and I feel well worth what I paid Omega for them.
