The mag that came with my in-the-box Chinese Mak looks like an EG with a poorly polished matt finish. Could this be an original Chinese mag? Would someone post pics of a "for sure original" Chinese mag and a first style Russian mag (with the EG style hump) for us less sophisticated collectors? Thanks!

Sorry I don't have any pics avail at this time BUT- I'm not sure the Chinese are not nearly identical to the Bulgys. With that said, the first Chinese I bought a few years back, would not lock the slide with the mags that came with it( NOT NIB), I tried other mags and slide lockd back. Tried the "chinese" mags in an EG, Bulgy, and Russian PM. Slides locked back- Go figure what that was all about.

Jarred52, you have indeed got the original Chinese mag from your description. The Chinese Mak's made for import looks great on the outside, don't you agree? Yet the milling inside the Chinese Maks are a little rougher than the other ones being the Russian, East German and Bulgarians. The mags are noticeable rougher than the other varieties, and have a "hump" like the E.G.'s. I could post a pic of mine but I don't think we will be able to see the difference in MY pics, meaning I am not very proficient at good detailed pics. :( Nevertheless, it sure sounds like you have a nice rig including your original Chinese mag. Does the serial # begin with "ZZ", if so those were some handsome looking guns. Enjoy it.

Thanks, Timbo. I had hoped that was the case. Unfortunately, my MAK is not the ZZ but a commercial production. Now I get to go through all of my extra mags to see if I have a Chinese in my EG box.

What makes you think ZZ prefixes aren't commercial?
