ive got one that i think is russian capture, it has a dark redish finish . its a CE 1943, says cebo on the barrel shank and has a 37 waffenmark.it has a matching number stock but magwell and front band are different numbers
I've got a CE 44 that I acquired 30 years ago from the vet who captured / brought it home. It's in the 7XXX L range and has an Erma produced receiver. Two interesting things about the rifle: it has an imperial marked floorplate, with a two digit # that matches the first two digits of the four digit serial #. The serial number on the lower barrel band is stamped across the top of the band instead of the side. Otherwise it a pretty standard, nice shooting K98.
