Franchi's and DMala's assumptions actually make a lot of sense to me. Many Moschetti TS (and probably *all* TS in 8x57 IS) miss their cleanig rod, so there is definitely some collector demand for re-production.
I can however offer one additional perspective. My Moschetto TS Mod. 38 in 7,35mm has an unusual detail on its nosecap: at the rear end, the nosecap is recessed inward, exerting strong spring pressure on any cleaning rod. This would hold a threaded rod via friction effect, but a rod like the one pictured could impossibly be drawn out, because its flange would be blocked.
