At the top there is a Carcano cleaning rod used on the TS rifles and on the 91/24; but, what about the cleaning rod on the bottom?

Thanks a lot.

Warmest regards.

Looks like a M41 long rifle? Altered, cut shorter, and the larger section near the tip turned smaller. But why?

This cleaning rod is original as it is, it was not modified.

Thanks for your opinion.

Franchi's and DMala's assumptions actually make a lot of sense to me. Many Moschetti TS (and probably *all* TS in 8x57 IS) miss their cleanig rod, so there is definitely some collector demand for re-production.

I can however offer one additional perspective. My Moschetto TS Mod. 38 in 7,35mm has an unusual detail on its nosecap: at the rear end, the nosecap is recessed inward, exerting strong spring pressure on any cleaning rod. This would hold a threaded rod via friction effect, but a rod like the one pictured could impossibly be drawn out, because its flange would be blocked.
