I am with you on that bones92! I live in Canada and I think a hunter should be allowed to carry his handgun of choice while hunting. CCW as well. That will take a lot of work to get to mind you, but removing the long gun registry is a step in the right direction. I am keeping all my registration informatoin though, just as a reminder of what used to be. The feds are also destroying all the records but Quebec is angry about that and there will a challenge to the decision to destroy all those records. I applauded the feds decision on this, it was a long time coming! 17 years of this draconian requirement has ended!

My wife was born in Scarborough, Ontario. Maybe it's time to take advantage of her dual citizenship.

Not quite over, the Political process is not finished yet. It still has to go through the Senate and get the Governor General signatures before it becomes Law. If everything goes smoothly, it should be over by April.

Lets allow CCW in Illinois the only state in the Union that does not allow such!
Are you sure "allow" is the word you want to use?

"Jeff Larivee, whose wife was killed in the 1989 Montreal massacre, is a spokesman for the Coalition for Gun Control. He said he and many other Quebecers feel outrage at the Harper government’s determination to dismantle laws that, for many, serve as a memorial."

Did this disturb anyone else?

Not me, because our lawbooks are filled with laws that do nothing but register some politician's concern for his constituents uninformed opinions and news media generated outrage.
Right now Ron Paul is trying the same act with his demands for an audit of the Federal Reserve. Earth to Ron Paul: The Government Accountability Office, an agency of that same Congress that Ron Paul claims to be a member of, conducts audits of Fed operations. The bigggest and most recent audit results were issued last July. It was of the Feds emergency operations over the past 3 years. The only findings were of potential conflicts of interest because loans were made too fast to go through the usual background vetting of Fed and bank officials, but there was no evidence of any wrongdoing from it.
