Can anyone tell me what this tripod is for? What weapon and any info, Rob

It is for the FND LMG. Both the T&E and the gun "cradle" are missing, neither of which are easy to find separate from a tripod, unfortunately. The elevatiion srew shafts on these tripods are prone to breaking at the base where the connection is quite inadequate. I have two 98%complete FND tripods, which would be 100% except for each has a broken elevation screw and I've never been able to find them except on a complete tripod. Have to improvise something some day. Never seen a cradle free of a complete tripod, either......

It also fits the FN FM 30 (Mle 1930). The extra length of leg is the AA extension. Good video of this tripod in use found on this site http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x0auBJ1F7Zw I think the FM 30 is fairly scarce.
