to expand a bit further, the front band appears to have some numbers on it.
would it be correct to say that by the time a kriegsmodell stock was used, the numbering of bands had ceased? in other words, any legit kriegsmodell would not have numbered bands?

With that stock eagle it's definitely not legit. OTOH I have never seen a Kriegsmodell with numbered bands.

IMO the stock has been sanded and the cartouche was stamped after the sanding and, of course, is not a WaA135 anyway.
Likely not an Oberndorf stock.
