Anyone know if Bulgarian factory 10 5.45 is steel core 7n6?. Don't know much about this round.

It is steel core “7n6” ...in quotes because the core in metallurgical testing is much harder than Russian 7n6. I Personally sent this ammo off for core hardness testing. The Bulgarian core is almost as hard as the US 30-06 M2 AP core.

Test of Bulgarian core was “Hardness: 54/57 RHC (tested two spots)”

Thanks ammolab for the reply. Looks like I got mostly russian 539/79 but 30 rounds of the Bulgarian 10 on clips. Impulse buy back in the day to clean the guys table of no headstamp Yugo brass x39 so he could pick up some 10 gauge semi auto for geese.. I prefer cholesterol burgers down at Sam an' Ella's drive in.
