Just got email from century advertising the Bulgarian 5.45x39 ammo being available again.

A bit more expensive than Russian, but much newer vintage And some like this stuff the best.

Todays email flyer Century wants $330 for two spam cans, or $165 each as a St. Patricks day special. Doesn't AIM have the Russian stuff for $260 for two cans... is the Bulgarian stuff really worth 27% more? ( 70/260) At least Century has free shipping on orders over $500.

Have shot both, and to me they are basically the same quality. The Soviet 80 dated stuff shot as well as some Bulgarian from 1990. Both sure fire. Wish I would have bought a case or two of the Polish 5.45. Centerfire had that stuff for a short time.

100% corrosive as is the Soviet, and the Polish 5,45. If you want n/c you have to buy the commercial stuff like Wolf, Bear, Hornady, etc. As to quality, Century had this stuff years ago and it shoots the same as the russian stuff which is cheaper. Basic mil spec ammo.

With pleasure, Kent.

Oddly enough... Russian is just about the only 5,45x39mm ammo I *don't* have. I even have plenty of the RWS hollow point that was imported with the DDR SSG sniper rifles.
