Howdy y'all,
I am trying to assemble a buttstock kit for a WWII M1 Garand. I have noticed that there seem to be two main varieties of pull-through bore cleaning devices: one made of steel and the other made of brass. Were both issued during WWII? Or perhaps the brass version was issued earlier in the war, and was replaced by steel during the later years? Any light that could be shed would be appreciated!
