Or at least I think it is a 1640 and later produced as it has cross slotted screws holding the butt plate on, which I haven't seen before. Serial No. is 2323XX. Can someone enlighten me on what I have, model number, year produced, etc.? Thanks

nice wood...i have one too...
and 4000 both look new one with extra figure knock wood...both in 243

I have been cleaning it up this afternoon and the rifle is as new as possible without taking it out of the box. The bottom metal has no finish rubbed off and the bolt raceways are still blue. I'm thinking it was bought, put into a safe or closet, and there it sat all these years. That will not be the case much longer as I plan to make it my primary hunting rifle. I have already mounted a 4x El Paso Weaver and it is still light as a feather.:)

FIRST screws like that i think... but dont remember....think all single slotted...
havent looked that close in years...
sorry not feeling well enought today...to go look and be 100%.....
but if thats new looking.....then why replace the screws....?.

i cant remember also when the reinforcing pen was added below bolt stop...
wish Steve B was with use still..... but healthy!
