At the beginning of the Korean "war" their was a shortage of rifles for the South Korean (RoK) troops. The U.S. Army pulled an unknown number of Japanese Type 99 7.7MM rifles and converted them to .30.06 for RoK use.

The book gives a brief history of the war and the rifle conversion process. It contains actual blueprints of the various parts of the converted rifles and the jigs, etc that were designed to make the conversion. A copy of the Technical Manual and Standard Nomenclature List are included as well as the then "secret" documents on adding a canvas frog to the standard Japanese T-30 bayonet scabbard to attach it to the U. S. web belt.
