Outstanding book - must have for anyone interested in the German soldiers experience during late WWII. Interesting to find out how feared US artillery was - seems to have caused most of the damage from reading accounts. German solders clearly loved captured American rations - cigaretts and chocolate definitely loved. Clearly were envious of American radios too. Does an incredible job of describing the weapons and equipment issued to the Germans. Not much on tanks or planes though. Plenty of first hand accounts of soldiers being issued G43s, MP44s, P38s, and P08s. Great photos too.
Only thing I would have liked were soldiers opinions on firearms - both German and US. Would have loved to know if the Germans had confidence in there pistols and rifles. What did they think of the M1 Garand and M1 Carbine?
