Can anybody here recommend someone to straighten a M98 Mauser bolt good enough to make it look like it is suppose to.The one I have has been turned down only.It hasn't been reshaped(filed or Flattened)or otherwise altered. It's matching to the rifle and the other parts match, but some idiot turned the bolt down. The numbers on the bolt are intact.I'm hoping it can be straightened and leave the numbers there.

Thanks

A good gunsmith should be able to reforge the bolt handle without marking it up or changing the markings that are already on it. It will require major heat applied to the bolt handle, so in order to prevent damaging the heat treatment of the rest of the bolt it will have to be properly protected.
A gunsmith should have the equipment to do the job, around here (South Texas) it would probably cost you $50.00-$75.00 to do it.

I highly recommend Jim R "The Boltman" as he restored a Kar98k bolt for me that had been straightened. He does really good work and is a board sponsor.
