I just acquired what seems to be a new Husqvarna M96 bolt with a straight handle. It has Husqvarna crowns on all the parts, but no serial numbers. Were new replacement bolts produced without serial numbers and then arsenal serial numbers matching the rifles they were installed in applied? Did only Husqvarna produce replacement bolts?

Carl Gustaf & Husqvarna made NEW unnumbered bolts that were put into inventory . These bolts were pulled from stock to make new rifles or repair old ones , as needed . Just as we see replacement receivers , bolts were replaced as well . Before Husqvarna started making Swedish mausers in 1941 , only Carl Gustaf bolts were used as a replacement . It would be VERY difficult to tell a Carl Gustad replacement bolt , unless the font was differant than the typical CG number stamps . Husqvarna replacement bolts on Carl Gustaf rifles are easy to see .

Yes , you can find Carl Gustaf & Husqvarna bolts without numbers , although the HVA bolts are most common . All the parts dealers have been selling them in the past . No telling which type you would receive .
