I have seen quite a few 46-48 date m44s that seem to all share a few traits. Blonde stocks that sometimes look to have been refinished here but have crisp secondary stamps. Many are original matching and many have the boxed 17 and 20 stamps on the top of the butt. Many have a serial number on the side of the stock. I have a fairly typical example. Is there any general consensus on where these were imported from? I've always heard they were Bulgarian reworks.
