I'll second the recommendation to get a Yugo Capture K98. I have one, and I love it. In my experience they are usually in better shape then your average RC.

i'll have to keep an eye out for one of those! are they around the same price as a russian capture?

I picked up mine for $180 tax included in January of 2009, but I haven't really kept tabs on prices since then. I'd say you're looking at at least $200 though.
