Hey Scott,
Sorry for the late reply, just caught your question.

I went through this a month ago. Only place I found making them was Forster (and at a pretty penny, I might add). Here's what they emailed me:

"...longer Field Reject headspace gage available for checking 7.62 NATO rifle chambering. Cost of this gage is $45.40 plus shipping and handling...."

Needless to say, I didn't order one yet.

gauges

The NATO gauge will be a special order as they are not regular production.

You could use a .308-Win gage, with a brass shim disk behind it to add in the difference in length between .308-Win & 7.62-NATO.

I asked Clymer the same question and here is the response I got. I am amazed that there is no one who grinds a field gauge specifically for 7.62 x 51 NATO.

Gary,

We grind to SAAMI 308 win specs. If you would like a gauge longer than .308 win field reject please specify the length and we would be happy to grind a special gauge to that specified length.

Thank you for your interest and we look forward to hearing from you soon.

Best regards,

Todd Wilms

Subject: 7.62 x 51 NATO Field Gauge

Dear Clymer,

Do you make a field headspace gauge specifically for 7.62 x 51 NATO. I have been told that you should not rely on a .308 field gauge in vintage surplus bolt action rifles.

Regards,

Gary
