Hello Folks -

Picked up this interesting Belgian. It is a short Model 1916. Janzen, I believe, refers to these as Model 1924. However, this has the larger muzzle ring and fits on the full length M1889 Mauser Rifle and the unaltered M1889 Carbines with the barrel jacket. Scabbard has been shortened by cutting it below the stud and welding together and finishing the pieces. An interesting conversion. It is regimentally marked to the 1st Chasseurs (my interpretation).

I believe it is post WW1 vintage, but can't really find any information on the large ring, shortened types. Wondered if anyone had any additional information?

- Thanks! Mike
