I bought 2 98k baynets at auction yesterday. I have many and have collected for years. I got one with the makers name Paul Weyersberg & Co. Solingen on the blade no date no proof marks anywhere and scabbard has no sn# and does not seem to be scrubbed. Was this a early export bayo for a 98k?

The logo you described is found on commercial Weyersberg bayonets purchased by the Reichspost. These will be marked with a serial # and the letters "RP" on the ricasso. I also recall seeing others with the police eagle/letter marking on the spine. Doubt they were exported. It's not a common bayonet.

Agree with what Len has said but would add that I believe completely unmarked commercial Weyersburg bayos also exist. By unmarked I mean they retain the Weyersburg logo but do not exhibit any Police or RP markings.

I found no RF or amything else. I will post pics later to me it seems to be later war as it has more machine marks than you would seen on any early bayonets that would have been exported
