ok, found a pawn shop that has a variety of old bayonets. most are covered with surface rust. none had severe deep heavy pitting that i noticed. i was scared to ask the price of some of them until i knew what they were and what they were worth in the condition that they are in. since i have gotten home, i think i have correctly identified them. please correct me if i am wrong and give me an idea of what they would be worth. there is one that is a dagger that is interesting. i believe it is from post WW2 russia during the 50's. have no info on it though.

#1) BERG & Co - German K98 bayonet

#2) AFH and US with flaming bomb- a US garand bayonet but the wierd thing is it's in what i think is a Danish scabbard

#3) US and 1894- US krag bayonet

#4) J Sch- German K98 bayonet

#5 and #6)- unknown Japanese Arisaka bayonets, he had a bunch of these but i just picked out the ones with the leather frog.

#7) unknown apparently Russian Bayonet. kinda cool that it was what appears to be Migs on the scabbard. just an interesting bayonet to me. probably not worth much but i'm guessing that it is a Russian air force dress dagger.

I was going to say that I saw a dagger like that sell for around 475 on ebay once. I have since seen them listed from $495-$695 at other places. looks like you got yourself a real bargain.

Their is also another one listed on Ebay now with a buy it now price of $400

The correct name for this implement of war is dirk. Yes, this is Soviet Air Force and it was made in 1958.

The condition ain't great though. Good to Good+?

ok, so what would be an appropriate price to pay for any of these. hopefully i can get the soviet air force dagger at a reasonable price and just turn around and sell it. the others would be for my personal collection to match rifles that i own or will own in the case of the krag bayonet.

well going by ebay prices... if the german bayonets are all matching with matching scabbards i'd say $100+ if mixed $60-75

the garand bayonet... i haven't done too much looking but i'd guess probably in the $100+ range

couldn't even begin to guess on the arisaka bayonets or the krag bayonet

Buy everything pointy that fits on a rifle, and go to the bayonet forum to have them ID'ed, and it will repay you well.

Last time I went bayo shopping, I ended up getting this ratty-looking brass-handled ersatz-turk-looking bayonet that wound up being some super-rare German WW1 last-ditch that Marysdad bought off me for several hundred bucks.

tuco, i kinda figured that as they are on ebay for around $400. regardless, if i can get it for a bill, then i should be able to sell it for more.....profit = guns or ammo!!! could be a down payment on a krag that i want. i will likely be overpaying for the rifle but the krag bayonet mentioned earlier would be nice for the 1898 dated 1898 krag i want!
