Has any one here taken a barrel off a 9130 Mosin action ? If so can you recomend the best barrel vise and action wrench for this project .I have a whole machine shop to use and a Hydraulic press if needed . Arnie

Brownell's sell a variety of barrel vises and action wrenches that are standard in the industry. Like all Brownell's tooling they come with a no-BS guarentee.

If you're going to be doing much of this, I recommend buying a hydraulic professional vise:

For inserts you can use hard oak, aluminum, or split brass bushings. For resistant old military barrels, this is the way to go.

For a bench mount type you could use one of these, BUT, you need a STURDY bench to mount it to:

For action wrenches, no one seems to make a Mosin-specific wrench, so use a universal and brass shims to get a tight fit.:
