So I have been told that this is not a k98 barrel, I would like to know what model rifle it came off of. It has been sporterized with a muzzle break and the removal of the rear sights. But the reason for doing so is the bore is in Mint, so i want to build a custom Mauser. There are many markings on this barrel.

I appreciate the help.

Markings are circle Z and WaA607 indicating dou Brünn Bystrica. Probably a G24(t) barrel.

G24.t's were made in 1941 and '42 by Brunn Bystrica. They were marked with 'dou.' on top of the receiver. Brunn started making K98s during 1942 and continued until the end in 1945. You can find pictures of G24.t rifles in this section of military Mausers.
