Not real sure which forum to post this in for discussion. This evening, at a small local auction, I snagged a 1862/63 Ballard Carbine, serial 353x. Correct manufacturer, Ball & Williams, Worcester MA, correct agent stamp, Merwin & Bray. Patent 1861. Still in pin fire configuration. Correct sling swivels, looks to be the real deal. Very nice bore and action functions perfectly. Don't have any photos yet but once I find out where to have it land I will have some pictures. Put it on here now as it is potentially a military rifle that was delivered to Kentucky during the civil war as it appears that is where some of the ones from Ball & Williams went. If it doesn't belong here just let me know.
