I do give credit where credit is due - there's definately some Iraqis over there with some gunsmith skill. I saw worksmanship ranging from what my 6 year-old niece could do all the way to "Damn... that's good!" There's certainly a few guys over there that need to come to the US and do inexpensive semi-auto AK clone builds.

Difficult to tell. Probably a European hunting rifle. Contrary to belief, many Iraqis do hunt in Iraq. Especially in the northern areas and in the south. Many Muslim Iraqis hunt everything with the exception of boar but the Christian Iraqis will also hunt boar.

Here's some photos of my friend, a local Iraqi, with some of his family - forgive the "blacked-out" faces as there's still security concerns since he helps US Forces and lots of Iraqis do persuse the popular gun forums, believe it or not. But it kind of helps to show that, as the faces are hidden, it looks like scenes from anyone's hunting trip that could be in the US. It's too bad that terrorist/militia morons and other bad guys give a bad impression of Iraq when there's a lot of nice folks, too:
