So I'm digging out some old duffle bags because mini me want's more of dad's old army gear to play with. I find a flat new sleeping bag I can't recall how when or where I got it. I thought it a M1949 down mummy bag... but nope it is'nt. It has the light olive interior of the same material that the M49 bags were made of , but a tougher cotton exterior and an odd non mummy type end for your head. It's dated 25 sept 1952.
Was this a medical item for wounded or a specific issue use for something else ?. Don't know what to do with it as it's too nice for the kids to muck up.

I've read about guys in Korea being bayonetted trying to get out of the mummy bags.
Wonder if this is a response.

We only had mummy bags in the 60s and they were great where we used them.
